I got my FP done in Jan 2008 but we never got the FP for my wife. We put in a SR with USCIS customer service.
We did get a response about the delays, but it is taking more than 60 days to get a response.
It has been 5 months since that response came.
We called USCIS customer service and they suggested to go to the fingerprinting location, along with original I-485 receipt notice and the letter stating the delay and see if the IO would take the FP the same day.
Lets see ....

Has anyone with approval from 08/01 received welcome letter or card? My husband's I485 was approved on 08/04 but no letter or card yet. Also, mine and my son's cases are still pending, opened SR and will take infopass next week.

Same boat guys. July 07 filer and have not received my FP yet. My lawyer thinks it should not be a problem at all, and I read of a case here who got his GC without ever fingerprinting.
Am about to renew my EAD and AP in a couple of week's time and that is the only hope left. I sincerely hope not receiving FP is not a major drawback.

Let the thread continue until Monday evening. Meanwhile let us add a poll asking the members in this thread to vote and then decide on Monday evening. Meanwhile the drive will continue.
Options might be
I donated towards reimbursement and that is where i would like to see it going. If not i will withdraw my pledge.
I don't care and will stand by the pledge.
Whichever thought prevails as the most valued opinion , we will go with that. Any thoughts ???

Yes, I've read it before in this post that there is no connection between LUD(Last Updated Date) and Receipt Notice.

I can't understand why Sanhari's suggestion would rile up EB2 folks. All he suggested was to use the EB spillover visas for oldest cases irrespective of EB category and country.
Sanhari - Are you sure that this is a USCIS decision? Can USCIS change the way the do the spillover without legislation change?
Folks, There is a another thread on here that says IV is neither against EB3 nor for EB2. If that's really the case why would Sanhari's suggestion not find favor? If IV seriously want to do something for the backlog, Sanhari's suggestion should be taken up.
I anticipate and welcome reds, greens, blues for this post :)

Unless, EB3 people come out of the lethargic content/self pity and start working on the issues as if their life depended on it (it does) - just writing to the senators and representatives will not help. The legislative offices is not going to do the analysis (in the time that matters to us) and address it to the USCIS. However, if we do the ground work and then approach them, we may have a better chance of succeeding.

When we tried to schedule infopass (for sep) we found only one are two dates and appointments start from 6 AM. Is this correct? Will the office be open so early? We got a slot at 7.30 AM.
Also once you book an appoinment, I see only 'cancel' option, how to get to modify option?

The views expressed in the context of sending grammatically correct letters is appreciated. As such, it would make sense if we can send the same letter, which would not only emphasize the same point but would be grammatically correct as well :)

Sending a grammatically incorrect letter is much better than sending no letter or sending one in Jun-10. From last 2 days, I saw no one doing anything. Hence I sent my letter. Correct, I didn't spend too much time on it. If you so care for grammar when are you getting the correct letter out?

We are in AOS stage and planning to do Canadian Landing next month. Any one here knows if we have to surrender our I-94 when we exit the USA?

If your visit is less than 30 days, detach I-94 and keep it in your pocket preferably in an envelop to make sure that it remains safe. Be prepared for questions that US IO will ask when you return back. Reduce your answer to Yes or No and don't provide explanation of anything unless you are asked to. What is your status in US?

A question about CIR. Currently isin't it more beneficial for anti-immigrants to just ensure that absolutely NOTHING is done to CIR? That way the Senate version of CIR never sees the light of day, but since it doesnt die either, no other legislation can come into place.
I guess my question is, how & when exactly does CIR "die"/get phased out of the picture so that other legislations may be considered?

I read and hear the same thing over and over again, NO SAVINGS,
It is also true for me, NO SAVINGS, We all earn a better salary from others since we are high level professionals, born from a indian family. Where are we wrong.
my first 3 years used to save money, from last 3 years i have no savings. better lifestyle than india. Canadian green card backed up. paid paid money to immigration lawyers for US and canada. , NO US education. Helped friends and relatives financially. Setup a business in india, just doing Okay.
Now i am thinking is it worth staying in US away from parents.
1. Good health (which we often take for granted)

2. US born kids (at least they are citizens, if that's important to you)
Not married no kids
3. US education (a different experience for sure)
No us education
4. Good savings (all said and done, your bank balance is very important no matter where you stay in the world)
No savings no big salary
5. Good work experience (this is transferable and more or less ensures a decent future)
Yeah just started career
6. Loving/caring family/friends (who will always love you the same and couldn't care less about GC or citizenship)

First step - Gather information and strengthen the support. Once we reach a ballpark, arrange meetings, conference calls
Finalise a lawyer ( MadhUVJ - has great suggestions on it )
Preparing an Action Plan, will be out soon.
Man-Woman-GC is gathering details.
Please join us in this effort
Folks...nothing is going to be feasible unless we have enough numbers beind us....so our sole action item for now should be to get 1000 people to pledge to this effort...one we are 1000 strong....things will start falling into place....I am sure there will be a number of attorney's who will be willing to help us spend 100 grand...;-)
