Action item for IV, besides visa recapturing etc. Its one of the items they
should add to there agenda. ----------------------------------------------
aside from 1)increasing numerical caps,
2)reducing processing delays,
3)eliminating per country limits,
4)eliminiting career stagnation rules,
5)aside from visa recapturing,
6)aside from not wasting visas,
7)aside from eliminating name-check backlogs..,
8) aside from allocating one visa per family as opposed to one visa per person---.----you want them to change their internal system as well!
I understand the entire system needs an overhaul,but it would be great if IV acheives even one of the above agendas....

mailed on 2nd july received 3rd july notice date 10th sep sen to Nebraska receipt number from Nebraska. delivered at 11:14 am on July 03, 2007 and was signed for by F HEINAUER

My husband called USCIS today to check if they have correct address on file and alas they had old address. When we moved after filing for I-485/EAD/AP, we changed the address in Oct and also after we received receipt notices in Jan. We received EAD/AP/Finger printing notices at the present address for all three of us and now they are saying they had old address on my husband's I485 only, great!!!
They were not sure where the card/welcome notice/approval notice were mailed, to my old address or the attorney. Will check with the attorney today, if not what is the procedure as the card will return back. Thanks in advance.

Hi - I currently have my H1B(H4 for my wife) valid till Mar 2011 and EAD expires on 10/15/08.
Can I skip the renewal process for now and apply for EAD later?
My lawyer says it is OK to skip for now and apply for EAD/AP anytime as long as I-485 is pending.
Please advise.

The intent, of course, can change after some time. Lawyers differs on the duration. Some argue it is 90 days, whereas others suggest 180 days or 1 year.

Holy cow... I cannot believe, I got my green card today...
My online case status changed to card production ordered today (1 hour ago).
I had filed during july fiasco and was not abel to send my medical tests , so had got RFE.
Then i took the medicals and sent the response in july 2009, and the status remained RFE response received for a long time.
I called NSC and opened a service request on Aug 18.
Guys believe me Service Request does miracles, they just approved it now.
So my journey came to an end after 7 years.
If I got green card, the whole credit goes to IV. You guys are really great, learnt a lot from this forum. Kudos to you all...
I will continue to visit these forums and help as much as I can.

This is plain simple illegal to secure H1B without a job. Period. There is no question of moral or ethical issues here.
Moral and ethcial issues come with legal situations; like labor usb is legal but one can question whether it is etical. Same goes with PD porting. It's legal but one might question if it is ethical.
Geeting H1 through bodyshops showing false employment is a fraud. It's high time we reported all these fraud to DOL.
Please ask masaternyc to take up this cause and march to Washington DC for us. He can do this work along with his crusade on labor subs and get double the number of virgins. :D:D

Sorry if this is not about GC or any US immigration processes...i just would like to know if anybody can help me or provide me the procedures to obtain Canadian PR. I already had an assessment done (me and my husband under H1 here in US as Accountants ) and we have I-140 and 485 pending. We are thinking of trying Canada.
I always checked and read this site but this is my first post and your help would be greatly appreciated.

Equating labor substitution with porting is real silly. Labor substitution was clamped down, because of abuse, however it didn't mean that it was wrong by its very virtue. However the abuse lead to its closure.
As for porting, I don't see any scope for abuse. Cuz the process is in such a way, that one has to refile labor, 140, and all the exact procedures similar any freshly new EB-2 candidate would. The only difference is that at the end, one has option to request his/her earlier date.
And rightly so, because there's a difference between two Eb-2 filers. One who has not filed anything before, and one has filed "SOMETHING" before. That "something" holds the merit.

1. We should focus our resources and lobbying efforts to tone down immigration bills on our behalf. Spending our money to go there and put one more soul to say to Sen. Specter "vote for this bill" does not cut it.
2. We should use our lobbying resources and connections to contact decision makers from NumberUSA, FAIRUS.org and other major organizations and communicate our plans. We should clearly adopt a position against any bill which supports amnesty and offer a sensible, reasonable and fair quantitative increase in Employment Visa numbers. An example of reasonable proposals would be temporary increase of visa numbers, elimination of visa lottery and reallocation of visa numbes to EB, visa number recapture.

These words are not trivial. I have personally witnessed and believe an immense power hidden in these words. I with everybody else in this forum really, really want the miracle to happen with you that cures you completely and brings you back to your normal life.
This is my first post in this forum. Until today I was a bystander on the fence never actually got inspired enough to fight for a cause as trivial as getting a green card. But today I broke the fence and came in. Because never before in my life I have seen such a real courage in a real person. I salute you and wish I can be as courageous as you when life will demand from me.
Just want to let you know that somebody somewhere dropped a few tears for you and will continue to pray to the power above for your speedy recovery and well being.

Filed I-485 on July 31,2007. Checks cashed on Sep 10th and received Receipt Notices for me and my wife through the attorney yesterday. I am in the EB-2 category with PD: Oct 2005.
However, on both of our I-485 receipt notices, the Category shows up as "Unknown" ...Has anyone else faced any such thing...

It's almost 3 weeks today since I've opened SRs for my self and my spouse for not receiving FP notice and we haven't got any notice yet.
I want to know if some one who opened a SR for FP and did not receive any FP notice after the wait period expired, what did you do? Is taking an infopass the next step for missing FP notices or just wait and watch?
