If 6000 of us could achieve so much in an year, imagine what 100k will do. That way we will be a credible enough force to be heard and respected. It still beats me how we have only 6000 odd members despite the dire situation that the majority of EB applicants find themselves in since 2001.
For the life of me, I couldn't figure this out either.
I also don't understand why most of EB applicants are so oblivious to the EB-based immigration situation.
I am from ROW, and I could only shake my head in disbelief when one of my Indian friends asked me innocently if the 'situation' was 'really that bad'?
If there really are 600K EB applicants, and all we can get is 6K members, then perhaps we deserve the crappy situation we find ourselves in today.

Sorry to hear about your diagnosis and our prayers are with you and your family.
But as suggested by IV members, please do consider a visit to india and take second opinion from the Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai, its one of the best cancer treament centre in the world.
US Healthcare system is for Profit, some medical facilities in US are exception, but if you see the overall Healthcare system it sucks and its all driven by insurance and big Pharmaceutical companies.
Please send me the private e-mail if you need any help in Mumbai to reach good doctor in Tata Memorial Hospital.
Thank you all for your help and support but I have made peace with my fate. I have pancreas cancer with VERY poor pragnosis and trust me I took 5 different opinions with the some of the best hospitals in US and Europe.
Regarding my family, something is working out in Sweden and probably all of us will move there permanently in 1-2 months. We have some relatives living there.
Thanks again for all you help. You guys really made us feel we are not alone.

Summary of AC21 law provisions poste above.
(1) It is not necessary to work for GC sponsoring employer prior to getting GC
(2) USCIS should be advised (after 180 days of AOS pending) with new job offer (in same/similar classification), and your intentions of using AC21
(3) Sponsoring employer can not withdraw I-140 after 180 days of AOS pending
(4) Sponsoring employer CAN withdraw I-140 within 180 days.
July 2 filers should keep their sponsoring employer happy until Dec 29, with no suggestions that you might be thinking to leave. Do whatever you want thereafter.

Been in the US since 1998, have an EB-2 PD of 2001, have played by the rules all along. Still no GC... And, the dates are going back to 2000 from the new year.. I've lost hopes...
I'm pretty close to getting clinical depression because of this game played by USCIS, Labor Dept, FBI and my own bad luck.
SKILL bill, OMNIBUS, etc. comes and goes. IV does seem to be doing things to lobby for the community, but let's face one reality. Like a news article said, no one in congress or senate wants to touch immigration even with a long pole until 2009.
The US has been very good to me (other than the GC part), more than my home country (India) which is why I'm still here.
Have invested too much of time in this country to just pack up and go. Just curious if any of you feel this way? How do you handle such depressing feelings?

There are highly skilled programmers from Nigeria also, just not in the same numbers. So you want them to stand behind all of China and India ?

We cannot get far with this EB2 Vs EB3 fight.
We understand EB3's situation, however pitting one against another will not help.
Sanhari: why not take your efforts one step ahead and work for fixes like visa recapture. That would be permanent solution and doesnot favor any particular group. You will be able to get support of EB2 and EB1 folks.
I know IV core is focusing its efforts on CIR. CIR is dead meat or going to be... considering this, is IV core working on any piecemeal reforms? Can somebody from the IV core comment????

I got the e-mail saying that they have mailed my 485 approval notice on August 4 - but nothing after that - will the notice come to me at home or will it go to the lawyer - also how long before the card production e-mail gets here - not that I am in a tearing hurry - I have waited several years so what is another month ?

I can tell you - based on my observation from folks who have received the card before, within 7-10 days your card should be on its way to your HOME not LAWYER.

RD - checks were cashed (date - July 30, 2007)
FP - Got a mail from USCIS regarding finger printing (scheduled - August 29,2007)
So far no receipt by mail, application is at Nebraska.
Yo man, you are one lucky dude! Nebraska hasn't issued many fp mails to July filers.

I still havent received the date when my app was sent(lawyer sent it)
Our law firm (Fragomen) actually sent someone directly to Nebraska on Sunday evening to file the docs at the USCIS office there...They filed Monday early AM.

If the Skil bill gets approved in the senate, when is it going to come to effect? Will the Cap increase for this year oct1 2006 to sept 31st 2007. And for the students who have already recieved their OPTs, will their OPT duration increase to 24 month? The bill for doubling of H1bs, is it the same as the SKil bill or a different one? when is that coming to effect?

My PD is Oct 2005 and I140 is approved on June 2006 at TSC. I see LUD on 7/28/2007. My papers reached NSC on July 3rd at 8:20 Am.No checks cashed yet...?
